Trying to figure out a place to stay in Sydney and Melborne is almost near impossible, having never been there before.

If I find a good hostel, I don't want it to be innodated with a bunch of 18 year old orangatans, but I also don't want to be stuck with a bunch of boring old people. Can anyone recommend a place that is hip, clean, cheap and not thumping techno all night long?!!! Thank you!

I stayed at Arrons Hotel in Sydney. It is an old Warehouse that has of course been remodeled to make a hotel out of it. It is an interesting place. It also has an Eating place attached to it and if I remember right there is a convienience center a little ways down the block. But i would check with a travel agent personally.

easily The Rocks. I even have stayed on the old Sydney holiday lodge. Its no longer the flashest of inns yet is 4 celebrity with a eating place and room provider and you cant beat the area. in case you have somewhat additional money to spend attempt the Sebel Pier One next to the Bridge. spectacular Harbour perspectives!
