some ppl are just clowns and get a kick out of it,some ppl just need to see thier own words on the internet, some are just using it to point out that they do one of the styles that the stars do and that it's better than any other, some just use it as a way of bragging or bolstering thier own inefiencies.they are stupid but sometimes you just got'ta laugh.a lot of ppl here think ma is about who's fighting who and who's the best some ppl are just so up themselves that they challenge ppl on here(and then report them for abuse when they get an answer)these type of ppl will never be ma.i dont take much notice of them i just laugh and file it away under p for peanut.what is annoying is ppl that dont read ppls answers properly.
yeah that to yupa.

This sort of problem exists all over the Internet. You can usually read this sort of question on any of the martial arts boards. I really love reading them and usually never bother to answer but will give you my views on what i think causes the problem.
TOO MUCH TV!
I'm not interested in who would beat who and which martial art is better than the other! Anyone who has put the time and effort into learning any martial art over a long period of time will tell you the same thing. Its not the art its the individual. All fighting skills share the same thing and that's movement! Ultimate fighting shows and black belt magazine have a lot to answer for! And young men in particular are only interested in proving themselves.
I think real martial artists know better and stick to learning their art and don't waste much time worrying about how effective their art is. They already know what there limitations are. Some of the best martial artists i have trained with don't advertise or compete! They don't have to.

Who might win in a combat, a undergo or a rhino? The case for the undergo may be that it may be speedier and greater agile, being waiting to doge the rhino's costs mutually as being waiting to counter with devastating slashes with it relatively is claws. Having the two it relatively is eyes in front of it relatively is face, relatively than on the two facets like the rhino's, we could the undergo objective and attack the rhino's weakest areas. The case for the rhino may be potential and protection. The rhino's thick cover might shelter itself from all however the undergo's maximum deadly strikes. The rhino's charge may be an in-defendable maneuver and might tension the undergo to circumvent it or get destroyed. The rhino's horns ought to truly puncture the undergo's tissue and might effect in a rapid, and bloody, victory. needless to say it relatively is going to possibly in no way happen. yet debating that's amazingly relaxing, very similar to how activities prognosis describe the strengths and weaknesses of each and every team human beings make the case for an animals potential and weak spot. It should not be taken heavily. although the debates can get very heated, they are all in stable relaxing and are finished fairly mockingly.

Why is it that the masters never ask these questions yet students - particularly the beginners - love asking these more than anything?
Masters are masters because they don't question the art, but the artist themselves and also aren't interested in such questions to begin with but rather continuing their own training.
Students ask these questions trying to find a way to quantify the best from the rest. Probably to try and determine if they are wasting their time because all they are looking for is combat effectiveness when there is as you said so much to it that that.
Students looking to kick *** will usually find themselves in the role of practice punching bag for the other students that are interested in more than *** kicking. Kind of interesting - you want to kick ***, its the one thing that will be denied to you. Forget about kicking *** and you will find that if its necessary, you have learned a great deal about doing so.
Seen it happen over and over again in Aikido and in Karate.
In Karate, the students that want to learn how to kick *** get little attention, held the bags and boards whereas the students who were interested did more actual training, got individual pointers and such. Believe me, Sensei could tell the difference.
He had no interest in teaching people how to attack others, only in how to defend themselves.
In Aikido (speaking for my own dojo only) there is a phrase that comes up alot - "you can learn without hurting people and remember the fact that you are next."
When someone throws me, that's one thing. When they slam me on the mat by adding unneeded power to the gravity that is doing the work, well, you're next and I'm going to respond in kind. Keep adding more after I've tapped? Ok, if you want to train at a more realistic level, if you outweigh me by 100 lbs and have a foot or more on me - don't be a hypocrite. If you stepped things up, fine, but I'm going to do the same - you will find that my small size and stature have their own advantages and that your extra muscle power doesn't help much afterall.
I'm a little **** that's not interested in learning how to kick ***. However, that doesn't mean I can't if I need to - the question is just not relevant to me. I've been thrown by people even smaller than me and there wasn't a thing I could have done to stop it they were better than I was. I've also gotten out of 'uncle' style arm locks given by football players, reversing the hold and had them on the floor, pined and in pain wondering how I managed to defeat their physical strength.
Sometimes people get it and come back for more. Other times people don't get it and can't handle taking what they give out so they quit and blame the art for their own mental conundrum.
This is training - its not a real fight - learn where the line between injury and pain is and you can always go further in the real world if you have to. Go further than that line in the dojo and you are either going to run out of ukes or those ukes are going to return the favor.
That is the point of training like this - give and take style. Sooner or later you realize that if you attack someone, you deserve everything you get - whether through mental, emotional or physical attack.

Here, here. Nice question, one of the few. I think people just like to talk (type), kind of like politicians. That is the difference between people going through the motions and true martial artists. Too bad there isn't a way to block all of the dumb questions and only let the good ones through.

I agree having trained in shotokan karate and kung fu since childhood..its about discipline, self control, self respect and respect for others, courage ,calm temperament, emotional maturity and the mastery of ancient oriental arts.It is for inner strength as much as outer. Its about being able to avoid conflict and live a peaceful life, and then and only then being able to protect yourself and weaker people in situations where thre is no other choice.
I agree with you i dislike silly questions about which star would beat another.
You are following the right path with maturity, good for you.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

Back in 'the day' it was 'who would win in a fight between Superman and Batman'. This is just an extension of that.
And after seeing Ronin, I'd put my money on De Niro ;-)

My guess is that A lot of people posting on this board aren't Martial Artists, but fans of MMA & movies. I can't think of any other logical explanation for this type of question.

Childish ideas sometimes must enter the minds of other persons on the board. Occasionally they're funny , but most the time I find them irritating .
