everyone makes mistakes. she wouldnt lose her pin number if she followed the correct reporting procedure afterwards. i expect that she must have compounded the mistake by either not/mis reporting it or some other poor practice. shes very unlucky actually but it happens. perhjaps she can appeal the decison of the professional body citing mitigating circumstances in her own life or else poor management protocols or practice on her employers part.
some teams have cultures where mistakes are frowned upon or punished. if so she may have a good justification for hiding her error. maybe she was stressed out, i dont know. she should speask to a union rep or else a soliciotr who specialises in medical legal work.

You didn't say where you were but you did say she was suicidal, if she actually is suicidal, is you must take this very seriously.
Call her and talk to her until you find some guidance, in the front of every phone-book there are numbers you can call for help.
She will find another job in time but most likely not in that field. People recover from situations like this but not if they commit or even attempt suicide, call her now and talk to her. There might be information in the phone-book that will help to recognise is she is at risk.

Surely there must be someone at the place she worked she could discuss this situation.
But what you must appreciate is,people do die because they have been given the wrong medication, it's a very serious offence.
I'm sorry that she is feeling suicidal, but how would she feel if she had actually killed someone?
I appreciate that your her friend ,and sympathise with her, but would you be so sympathetic if , say for instance, your mother was given the wrong medication and it killed her, think about it.
Yes, we do all make mistakes, but she was working in a trusted profession ,where mistakes cost lives.

I am afraid that since the destruction of all the unions. She is unlikely to get a fair hearing and it might just be the opportunity her employer was looking for. This was a serious mistake, but we all make them. I feel very sorry for her.

There is an insult unto death and the psychosis it causes is serious. Learn the symptoms of psychosis and ask the question again.
