quotes from Albert Einstein

“It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it.”

Albert Einstein, in a letter March 24, 1954; from Albert Einstein the Human Side, Helen Dukas and Banesh Hoffman, eds., Princeton, New Jersey: Princeton University Press, 1981, p. 43.

Here's another Einstein quote. Feel free to look it up.

"Before God we are all equally wise - and equally foolish." --Albert Einstein (1879-1955)

And right after that, get some remedial English writing classes.

I am confused. I thought this was about discussion of beliefs and opinions. Not a competition with winners and losers. There is no winner or loser, for what would be the prize? Pride? So what. Either God exist or God does not exist. Either you believe or you do not believe. In the end everyone will believe what they want to and live their lives like they want to.. In this country we have the right to express what we believe freely. That is the prize we should be looking to protect for all.

Some Christians may make the sin of lying as a part of being human just like anyone else.

It's not all christians...but the ones who do are obviously in need of some life experiences. They are the ones who feel most threatened by atheism. And I think they are probably some of the more intelligent christians. I feel that deep down they probably question their belief system and they fight back by bashing atheists. And on the flipside, the same could be said for atheists that bash christians. Or maybe they are all just trolls. The world may never know. :)

Genuine Christians don't lie--at least as a matter of course (we all have our weak moments) about anyone. But in all religions (and they all teach honesty as a moral sine qua non) there are those who are false--who attempt to deride and hurt others out of bigotry and hate. They adopt the mantle of religion in an attempt to appear righteous--much to the embarassment of others. In the particular instance, the real motivation was anti-Semitism--attempting to discredit Einstein because of his Jewish heritage.

And of course, such trash are still with us. Mostly you see them claiming to be "fundamentalists"--either "Christian" or "Islamic"--except today these groups are more directly focused on finding excuses to brutalize and murder those they hate. But other than the particular label, there's no difference between the two.

x-tians, especially the born wrong the first timers, have a NEED to see what they WANT to see.

Their belief that the rapture IS EMINENT, their focus on the book of Revelations ect....is to me PROOF that they read and think on the premise of PICK AND CHOOSE!

Hehe...

Well I guess Albert Einstein wasn't a Jew that escaped the Holocaust either, if that's the case.

I'm not religious. I have a relationship with God.

I do not lie about Athiests; I tell them the truth that God has instilled in my life.

On April 18, 1955, Einstein died in his sleep at Princeton Hospital.

Frankly, yes. That's exactly it.

It doesn't take much time to see that the dominant activity of Christians on Y!A is lying, and of course that reveals the factual and moral bankruptcy of their position.

The same reason why Atheists lie about Christians when they try to say it was Christians who started the wars and the crusades. No one who follows Christ (which is a requirement to BE a Christian) starts wars since He taught love and mercy. Claming a title doesnt make a person what they say. I have changed a tire on my car, but that doesn't make me a mechanic.
