It's like a "confirmation" ceremony in Judaism that occurs when a boy turns 13. He participates in the service and the significance has to do with becoming a man. It's mainly a strong tradition on the level of a wedding, ect. where family and friends are invited, there's a dinner, ect.

There is no "circumcision" here - that occurs right after birth within a few days.

Here's the dictionary definition:

Jewish rite of passage: The ritual ceremony that marks the 13th birthday of a Jewish boy, after which he takes full responsibility for his moral and spiritual conduct

Jewish is a faith. Christianity is a faith. I nonetheless won't be able to ascertain out what Messianic Jews are in words of religion. because Jesus doesn't in good structure the pastime description of messiah, I an invariably wondered through Messianic Jews (who in the experience that they have got self belief that Jesus is the Messiah, through definition, at the prompt are not Jews). i imagine I understand the necessary theology of maximum of Christianity. i imagine I understand the necessary theology of Judaism. yet, i do not imagine that from a logical standpoint, you may purely slap both mutually and declare to be Jewish. It makes more suitable experience to assert your a Hinjew (because Hinduism is all inclusive and that i appreciate Ram Dass). yet, I digress. because Christianity is unique in its conception of Jesus, i purely won't be able to wrap my mind round something noted as Messianic Judaism. it is type of like an "excuse" to no longer be Jewish and be Jewish at the same time at the same time as it is no longer Jewish in any respect. on to community criteria: I even do no longer understand why solutions were bumped off because i'm able to't see what they were. perhaps, someone inadvertently (or no longer) revealed anti-Semitic feedback or something. i imagine that probably the perfect element you should do is, in case you've faith in Christianity, to face up for what you've faith and communicate to your self a Christian. To by some ability attempt to envelope it in Judaism appears to be like more suitable than somewhat deceptive. it is purely my opinion, although the time period Messianic Jew purely makes me shake my head in utter disbelief.

It's a party for Jewish boys, when they reach manhood at age 13. Then they get circumcised. In essence it's a penis party.
