I recently moved from Chicago, IL to Houston, TX. What do I need to do in order to register my dirver's license in Houston, TX? I noticed from some ads of soemthing called State Inspection Test. Is that a requirement in TX, and when/how often should I have it done?

You have to show valid insurance coverage, bring in your VALID drivers license, and take the written test. That's it.

If memory serves correct, a state inspection test is where they check out your vehicle to make sure your tailights/horn, headlights/blinkers work properly.

I not remember the name of the place, been a long time I did this. But, if your License is still current and not expired you just go to where they issue driver's license and they change you over. If, your license is expired then you have to retake the test like it the first time. This how it used to be the last time I did this.
