Love CAN survive all. However some people come to realise that what they have/had wasn't love.
For instance if someone promised you fidelity and then held that up as a 'badge' of their love for you, would you doubt their love if they cheated? And if they cheated a second time would you move on?
I know that I would/did. It took some doing, but I had to re-assess what was REALLY going on. And that kind of intimate love really only works (for me, anyhow) if it is mutual. If the other person just doesn't really GAF then why continue?
But if both people can make an honest appraisal of what the relationship means to them and how to make it work within their own boundaries of honesty and decency, then that is something worth hanging on to.
I have seen too many friends and family stick with relationships in which they are being abused and treated without respect. That is NOT love, no matter what either party might claim.
But I am still very hopeful of finding the real thing.
Actually, I already have the real thing with several friends and some members of my family - real, deep, no points-scoring, unlimited, uncompromising love. I would like to find that kind of real love and be able to hold it up to the rigours of an intimate relationship. That would be heaven.

Love can last a limited number of hurdles. If there is one person lacking in the relationship that causes those hurdles, the other one gets sick of fixing their problems and finds someone better. There is only so much you can put up with.

love can survive everything. anything and everything.
the hurdles that you come across are kind of like tests. you have to be willing to try and work out your problems.
the reason people break up, in my opinion, is because they are looking for perfection. when they think of their soul mate they imagine a perfect relationship. but nothing is perfect everything has flaws. you have to learn to laugh at the imperfections. accept them. and another BIIIIG thing in relationships is to admit that its not solely ones fault. you cant blame your other without blaming yourself.
relationships are hard to work out. but their wonderful when you do soâ¥

sometimes people get tired and even if they love someone they cant go on.. they basically dont want to put themselves or the other person through the heard road... and they think the only way is to break up.. sometimes, people even forget that they love because they are too busy with the problems of the relationship and they just give up...others think life is too short to try to solve all these kind of problems...and the easy way is to break up...

There are always exceptions to the rule. People change sometimes for the worse and start having bad behaviors. How long would you stay with someone that belittles you and tries to sabotage your life at every turn. Sixteen years ago we were in love and then a year later after the birth of our daughter he started changing and I have tried and tried to be good to him and he isn't any better.

I don't think that love can survive all hurdles.....especially with cheating on spouses. I believe the person shouldn't have another chance.

You know how when something bad happens you're just sooooo ticked? I think if like say someone cheated on you you would like end it right there if you caught him...if you found out and just cut yourself off from the world and thought about the relationship you might hesitate because if you notice the more time you have to cool off the more understanding you become...

I agree with you. I believe that real love is stronger than any obstacles. If things should fight each other, real love must win, otherwise this love is wrongly called love. Love is the power of life and when it is a real love (not any thing else), it become equal to life itself...So, if any one loves another person a real love, he will see that this person represents his/her life and will fight the world to be make his/her love survive to be with the one he/she loves.

love requires 2 people
if one person refuses to love or live in love then the other person owes it to themselves to move-on
nobody should be a "place-holder" to keep a loser company while they search for something they perceive as better...
