In a solar mobile there is nothing difference in the handset, only the charger is different. Instead of electric mains this charger absorbs energy from SUN and store the same in the mobile battery.

Solar panel charge up the battery.
DC motor is used to move the car. Battery provide the power to the motor.
Speed is controlled bay rheostats.

it will work the same way only difference may be the charging will be made by using solar energy but the difficulty lie when there is no solar energy available but it can be corrected by using double battery or combo of solar plus battery system.
