They both lived alone for 6 years - now we're married and living in a new house for both of them. We've been living here 7 months now,and they STILL don't get along! The husky just wants to play, the cat growls because she is scared, which makes the husky freak out and go after her. It just keeps escalating from there!

Good luck- my cat would would beat the crap out of our husky. The cat was declawed, but the husky would be running away whimpering at every confrontation.
Our other husky actually killed one of the barn cats.

I would definately designate at least one safe room for the cat- somewhere the dog can't go. Cat's don't do well with changes and it make take a long long time for her to adjust.

Lol dont u know u cant make a cat do anything. if the cat doesnt like the dog he jus dont like the dog but they will learn to live together and stay out of each others space.
I had 2 cats b4 i got my dog 5yrs ago even though i had to get rid of one of my cats i still have to oldest one and da dog runs up on him and stucks his nose all in his butt but the cat jus stays away from the dog he see's the dog and go the other way as for my other cat i had used to fight with the dog when he got to close so it all depends on the animal. My dog only wants to play with the cat but the cat dont wanna be bothered so they have learned to live around each other

Wow, it's hard to say. Not to sound inhumane, but I would buy a cat cage and a dog cage and put them in the cages and set them next to each other. Don't leave them in there for too long though! They'll learn to accept each others company. I did this with my new dog and my older dog. They got along just fine afterwards. It might work for your cat and his dog. Congratulations to you and your new husband, by the way!

Best Wishes! :D

Sibes are very prey driven. With their age you may never be able to get them to get along. Separate them between rooms with a peice of plexi-glass so they can see each other. Make is secure so the sib can't break it down. Let them see each other for awhile and see if things calm down.

Unfortunately, I don't think there's too much that you can do (at least in my experience). Neither of them are babies, so that makes it tough. I'd say keep them apart as much as possible.
