Great for you to adopt! Use ProZyme - easy to use, just sprinkle on their food. Your pup is not "being bad" by doing this - though it is a disgusting thing to deal with for humans, it's just an instinctual thing that will go away (esp if you use Prozyme or similar)

It can mean he's lacking something in his diet. So you may want to upgrade his puppy food to something a bit better (remember the more expensive the food, the less of it they need.. so it's not always a bad idea).

Other than that, you can sprinkle hot sauce or something on his poops so when he goes to eat it he'll get detered. Do that for a few days/weeks and maybe that will break the habit.

You can also get the Bitter Apple spray to put on his dookie. Dogs hate the taste of that, and you can spray it on stuff you don't want them to chew up too. It won't cause stains like hot sauce could.

Put hot sauce on his poops. That way when he goes and eats it, it burns his mouth (but doesn't really hurt him). He won't want to eat poop again!

that's common among dogs. There's a pill they can take that makes their poop smell... You can get it at Petco or Petsmart...whatever pet store you go to.

Personally, I'd just keep it picked up. But, hey, that's just me.
