So there's this guy who was my hook up buddy last semester and right before winter break he was calling me 5 times a day and telling me he was getting attached and that I was perfect and he missed me even though we saw each other at least once a day.
We were only apart for 3 weeks and that apparently is a lot of time because since he got back from winter break he's been acting completely different towards me, as if we were best friends and hasn't made the slightest move or gave me a signal that he wants to hook up. On top of that he will not shut up about how great was the sex he got back home and about trying to get with one of my friends. And then a few days ago I was hanging out with him and his friends and found out that he magically got a girlfriend over the break that he forgot to tell me about. And still in the same conversation he told his buddies not to ruin his chances with my friend and told me he is always trying to look after me. What is wrong with him???!!!!!

There is nothing wrong with him. His sex life has exploded and he is enjoying it. If he was your hook up buddy - that implies no commitment, but he could see that he has getting emotionally attached. It makes sense that he would play with someone else while away and likely the same thing happened - he wanted a buddy and then started to get attached, hence the new "girlfriend" who could just be another buddy.

It seems to me that if you wanted him for yourself you should have spoken up before the break. It's easy to see that if he can find "buddys" to play with and he is not obligated to get into a relationship to have sex, then he will continue to do that as long as he can. That's just common sense. When he finds someone who he really likes that won't play without some kind of relationship then he will change. Until then, this is your frankenstein - you helped to create this behavior in him. No big deal - move on.

Peace!

What's wrong with him? Nothing, he's a male and males think that way most of the time.

It is terribly hard to go from being a "hook-up buddy" to a girlfriend! His hormones were talking when he was telling you that he was getting attached, he meant he was attached to getting sex from you and probably didn't want you to go anywhere else for it or to look for a boyfriend, thus his supply would end.

He's just not that into you any more. Probably cause you were too easy. Or he is commitment phobic. Just put your own act together, have fun w/ friends, and forget about him. When he finally matures at age 30 (or maybe never) then he will be crying about the fine woman he used to have, but nobody will want him...

what i think is, at first he just needed someone to flirt with.. then after the break, he doesnt need u anymore. the reason why he doesnt want to tell u bec he knows that u like him back. about ur friend, maybe he's teasing u.

He's just interested in the sex. If you want a relationship, I suggest you don't have one with him. Unless you talk to him about it and tell him how you feel.
