Bruiser is a good name, sambo might be offensive to some, and may confuse the dogs having similar names.

How about Cassius, Clay or Muhammad? I would say Ali but it sounds more like a girl name.

I have found it best to keep the pet for a couple of weeks and get to know its individual personality, that way you know the name will fit him. ( I have a pit bull named Psycho, and he sure is one crazy dog!)
