I'm not a christian but I am going to answer anyway. It is a difficult question. Some sects of christianity do not believe in working on Sundays. I think that allowances should be given to them for this. But a great many christians who say you shouldn't work on Sundays will also do other house chores on Sundays. So if you don't do one, you shouldn't do the other. Also people should be allowed time to worship on their day of worship. If that is Sunday morning when they would have to work, then maybe they can work later in the day? It's a hard question. If you go to work in retail they are most likely going to tell you that you will have to work some Sundays. Same as most jobs in the health field or public safety. So there are lots of facts to consider.

Equality is an ideology that is not really possible in reality. Because as humans, we just don't treat everyone the same. Like the tone behind your asking of this question. I sensed (or I could be wrong) that you are biased towards Christians.
In different employment sites, the bosses have different rules and opinions. So if they give you priviledge you mean you will forfeit it? Come on get real!

I'm a Seventh Day Adventist so I have experimented this. The constitution protects our right to worship on Sabbath (until today). To try and force somebody to work on a holy day is discrimination.
Some people have recriminated me when I'm not required to work on Saturdays and everyone else is required. Thats why I always make myself available at any other time, Sundays and week days nights. This way they don't feel I'm treated special.
Its not special treatment believe me. Adventists and other groups have one less day to do all the work that other people do in seven days.

If you find any particular day to be a holy one and do not believe you should be required to work on that day for whatever religious reason you give, it should be respected.
