If you are a candian citizen, and your flight is DIRECT to Mexico, then NO, you do not require a passport at this time. Proper documentation and identification, yes. Will your process time be a bit slower without a passport? Very Likely.
Check with any local travel agent first.

Why do people have to be so ignorant when answering questions. A simple "yes" will suffice.

Yes.. you DO need a passport to travel from Canada to Mexico. I travelled to the Mayan Riviera just last year and needed a passport.

As of today, January 23, 2007, you need a passport to fly into Mexico. If you drive, it will be in 2008 that you will need a passport, other than that, your DL, BC, or other photo ID will do.

I don't know if your flight is non-stop. If it has a lay-over in USA then yes you do. I don't know about Mexico. As of Jan. 1 this year the US is now requiring everyone to show passports. It would be to your advantage to go ahead and get one..i think.

I flew from US to Canada last year and only needed a pictured ID and my birth certificate. Things are changing.
