Some students think they're showing off when they whip out of the classroom, but the grade they end up with is nothing to brag about, especially if it was an essay test.

I use to do that with my Friends but later I figured the later the better so if you now any one who does that in your class try to make the people stop acting so amazed and to try and get there work done again and don't let yourself start doing that or your grades will go down the drains

it doesn't necessarily mean they're trying to show off when they finish and go off early.
it might just be that they want to be done and rid of the whole thing as soon as possible, and can't stand to be in the exam room any longer than necessary. and they might have the view that whatever answers they don't know, they don't know and no point staying on longer to think about it.

We put down all we knew. Thought about it and decided that is all we knew. Wasn't bragging, just hurting because I didn't know, so I got up quickly and left because I didn't study like I should have.
