Actually, the best place for your bread is believe it or not in the freezer! It will extend the life of your bread. Just take out what you need defrost it in the mirco for 10sec or pop it in the toaster. It really works!

Yes keeping it the the fridge will extend its life by a few more days. Mine usually keeps about two weeks if it has preservatives and about a week if it doesn't have any.
My mom used to freeze it but I don't go through bread fast enough to buy more than 1 loaf at a time. It's only 5 blocks to the super market.

Placing it into the refrigerator will definitely keep it from getting moldy longer than if it was at room temperature. I know that I will buy a few loaves and throw one in my bread box and the others into the freezer and I have never had mold grow on any of the ones in the freezer and they taste fine after they thaw.

Hope that helps!

The best way to keep bread fresher longer is to reseal the bag after each use. Mold spores are everywhere, and they will eventually win.

I don't know about the fridge but freezing the bread extends it by months.

there is not any longer something incorrect as long as there's no mould. If there is mould, do no longer purely rip off that corner and consume something. mould is like an iceberg. What you notice is merely approximately 10% of what's truly there. Or, toast it and slather it with PB & J. Bread mould won't kill you.

We keep loafbread in the fridge for sometimes a month or more. I've never known it to mold in there.
