so the customers can see what they are looking for, it also looks better. And if you are talking about labels on bottles behind the bar is so the customers don't ask you every too minutes what drink is that, witch is very annoying when you are busy. so when it comes to the bar trade its time saving and looks better from the customers point of view

So it's easier for them to see what they are looking for. If the labels aren't facing them, then they will over look it, and you just lost a sale. Or, they may make a mess trying to find what is right in front of them

It sounds like you are referring to clothes. Where would you have them, on the outside? It would look like hel l. Although I have seen this trend on a number of clothing items. Very tacky and low class. Like keeping the stickers on a baseball cap. I just laugh when I see it. I know why they do it, to show off the name, but if you really care about show, then you really have no class.

Another example of our Capitalistic society in action.
Some stores actually want the customers to find what they want in order to purchase it.
Actually, that leads to increased sales, more turnover of merchandise, etc. And what responsible business owner wants that?
