No, you really don't need a visa if your a British citizens can take part in The Visa Waiver Program?
The Visa Waiver Program (VWP) enables nationals of certain countries to travel to the United States for tourism or business for stays of 90 days or less without obtaining a visa. No, not for a holiday. You only need a visa if your stay over 3 months in the States.

If you have a criminal record, even a speeding offence, then you will need a visa. You call the us embassy, make an appointment for the office in london then you pay $100 and they give you a visa which apparantly lasts 10years! as long as you dont fluff the interview up, however, all they ask u apparantly is where do u work and what ru going2usa for?!! always check if your unsure, if you havent got crim record then you're free to go as long as you have machine readable passport

no for a holdiay visit. no. I am a british citizen, yet i moved to america when i was 8. (now 13) but u dont need a visa 4 a holiday visit, yet to stay more than lyke 1 year u do. Yet ur gonna have 2 get more info cuz it may have changed since i wuz 8. LOL. wat part of uk?

The requirements for a visa waiver are that you need the new-style passport now and that you don't have a criminal record (they ignore anything by Daniel O'Donnell or Sidney Devine). Now, its not my business to know if you have minor drugs convictions but if you do, you might be well advised to apply in advance for a visa. What is minor in the UK is not always considered minor in the USA.

You do not need a visa for a short visit but you do need a passport. There is a list of countries that have a free exchange program and the UK and U.S. are both on that list.

No, the airline will issue you with a small card to fill in, just the basics name address dob, you have this to the visa control man at the airport and he stamps it whhooo hoo you are in!! remember and keep the other bit though, the pretty lady on the plane will explain all!

no. i went in may and you get a 3 month stay without having to get a visa. You can have to get a visa if your stay is over 3 months.

No, as long as you've got a machine readable - barcode running along bottom of main details page - British passport with at least 6 months validity on it.
