i have researched my family tree back into the 16th century in Europe. i am looking for either software or a website where i can input my data into a family tree and then be able to share it with family members over the internet. i would also be able to print this data into a nice format to include in a book my Mom has put together about our family history.

I agree with the choice of software from the LDS group - PAF. I have 1500 ancestors now in my family tree, and I use that program - pretty simple to use. You can pay and get more functionality, but I've never needed to.

www.ancestry.org - go under Order/Download Products, free ...

Since I do not know where this question originates I will give you general information. If you are willing to have your ancestors religion changed you can post on ancestry.com, familysearch.org, rootsweb.com, and other LDS sites.

If that is not what you want, I recomend mytrees.com since they told me they told me they do not change the religion. There are others sites but some are specialized.

As far as software goes, you can get a low cost software like Family Trees Quick and Easy, or a free one. If you check out about.genealogy.software.com you will find sites that deal with the different software available for genealogy.

Another option is if you have regular software, like Microsoft Office or Microsoft Works available you can type the data into there, edit it and turn it into a real book. You can also import picture files, hyperlinks, and other ways of connecting the data.

Since I do not have a Macintosh in my family computers I do not know much about Apple based software, or any other operating system. I do know from some websites that there are different genealogy programs made all around the world.

I am hesitatant to give all my information out on the Internet. I found it can be very embarrassing if you find out a fact you thought was true about your family can be proven to be wrong once you have more sources. It can also be upsetting if you find data that proves your perfectly moral relative wasn't alway so, he went to jail first. Also, some of the data cost me a lot of money to find! I do not have so much money I can share every detail I paid for. It is up to you how you handle these issues.

Good luck. (Research is never complete, there may still be data to find in places where you never thought of looking.)

You cannot do your family tree totally for free, some cost is going to be incurred at some point. Follow these steps before you start 1) Talk to family Parents, Grand Parents Aunts and Uncles, Cousins etc, 2) Gather together any printed things that you have, Certificates of Birth, Death and Marriage, Baptism certificate Diary's and with luck you might track down a Family Bible. 3) Draw out a rough tree just to give you a idea of who's who 4) Be organised, you might not think it now but you can soon get swamped with Information. The web sites below are a good source of information as is the free bmd web site in the UK and if like me you are researching in Cornwall there is also the freecen web site. Good luck and good hunting

Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at https://bitly.im/aNCnT

Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.

You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.

Try Roots Magic. If you go their web site you can get a free trial and see if the software is what you want. I like the options they offer and it seems pretty simple to add notes, names, photos, etc.. I'm going to purchase this software next week.

www.familyorigins.com helped me fill in some info I didn't have. Most of the other sites always redirect me to ancestry.com which I usually avoid because it costs more than I want to pay. Good Luck.
