I recently bought a '02 Impala, the bill of sale has a charge "Tag & Title: $185.00" the dealership gave me a temp. tag but should they provide the reg. tag for the vehicle? I had no other tag to transfer and I live in Florida if that helps, Thank You in advance to anyone who can help.

If the dealership charged a line item for "tag & title" then they should either run the paperwork for your tags and deliver them to you, or give you the paperwork along with a check to the DMV so that you can go and do it yourself.

If the line item is for "tag & title preparation" you just got screwed out of $185.00 -- that's a fairly common "extra profit" scam that some disreputable dealers engage in.

Ask the dealer when you'll get your tags and see what they say.

No, all dealers provide a 30-day temporary tag. You have to go to the DMV and get one. It's another clever fee for establishing ownership. The dealership owns the car til paid for, but it's a fee for setting up the account and paperwork.
