how can this verse be justified:
First Epistle Of Saint Paul To The Corinthians Chapter 11:
4 Every man praying or prophesying with his head covered, disgraceth his head. 5 But every woman praying or prophesying with her head not covered, disgraceth her head: for it is all one as if she were shaven.

You are looking for 1 CORINTHIANS 11:15
Read the whole section in context and then I have pulled out some references.
*1 Corinthians 11:2-16 (I used New American Standard)
* Verse 5 "But every woman who has her head uncovered while praying or prophesying disgraces her head, for she is one and the SAME AS THE WOMAN WHOSE HEAD IS SHAVED."
******In other words, head shaved=no covering, long hair=covering
*Verse 6 "For if a woman does not cover her head, let her also have her hair cut off; but if it is disgraceful for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, let her cover her head."
******In other words, if you have short hair or no hair, cover your head (with a man-made covering, of course)
* Note Verse 10 "Therefore the woman ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels."
******quoted from source page 250 (see below) "This is a spiritual issue put in place at creation. The woman who remains under her husband's authority with the outward sign of the long hair, or some other head covering that stands in for the long hair she does not have, is saying to the rulers of darkness of this world, 'I belong to this man, and I am under his safe spiritual headship; you can not mess with me.' When a man prays or prophesies with long hair or a cloth covering his head, it could be sending strange messages to spiritual wickedness in high places."
* VERSE 14-15 "Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him, but if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her? FOR HER HAIR IS GIVEN TO HER FOR A COVERING."
******There is the answer to your question in full context of the Scripture. Let's look at some other versions of this verse.
*NIV "but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering."
*KJV "But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering."
*CEV "But long hair is a beautiful way for a woman to cover her head."
*Amplified Bible "But if a woman has long hair, it is her ornament and glory? For her hair is given to her for a covering".
***And then note VERSE 16 "But if one is inclined to be contentious, we have no other practice, nor have the churches of God.
******In other words, this is the only way it is done, as well as in the other churches. Remember that the "church" was the body fo believers, not a building or a specific denomination. As in, the "body of believers" in Corinth, or the "body of believers" at Ephesus.
* LOOP-HOLE: Since the man is the head of the woman, if he still wants her to wear a head covering in spite of her long hair, she should do so in submission to him. Likewise, if he wishes for her hair to be short, that is between him and the Lord. She should cut her hair short. There are more verses in the Bible that say to submit to your own husband than verses that speak about headcoverings :)

P.S. I am a woman and I believe this. I have long hair and it pleases my husband-my head.

This passage opens up when we understand the setting of First century Corinth. In the context it was only prostetutes who uncovered their hair. Corinth was a town famous for prostitution (to "play the Corinthian" was to be a hooker) - the common punishment for prostitution at the time was to have your head shaved.
However Corinth also had the hugely famous Temple to the goddess Artimus (Venus) where all the women who worked in the temple (as priestesses) were also religeous prostetutes.

So to translate it into todays images Paul is saying
Women, don't wear low cut tops and very high skirts when you pray and prophesy, you're not showing respect for yourself and it will be taken as if you were picked up for prostetution.

Paul is actually promoting women's rights here (in a society that didn't recognise their right to be taken seriously in religion beyond as prostetutes)

Womens hair is 'their crown of glory'. . A head protecting is in basic terms needed while a woman has to take the lead in a congregational accountability it relatively is frequently performed by using a guy. coaching or praying interior the presence of a baptized guy demands the pinnacle to be coated. If women meet mutually for an activity it relatively is congregation appropriate (ministry or learn) then the pinnacle could be coated by using the lady taking the lead if a guy isn't contemporary.

The “covering” being argued for in this verse (her “long hair”) is distinct from the type of “covering” being argued for in verses 4-13, for additionally the Holy Spirit by no chance uses two different Greek words to distinguish this fact. In verses 4-13 the Greek word is kataiscu, nei, here in verse 15 it is peribolai,ou. Since the Greek word for “covering” here is different than the one used in verses 4-13, the Holy Spirit is alluding to a different covering here. If Paul would have meant this whole section to be a hair length issue primarily, he would have used peribolai,ou (“covering”) not only here in verse 15, but starting from verse 5-so as not to confuse the issue.

Women have been participating in Christian worship at Corinth without the head-covering normal in Greek society of the period.

Paul's stated goal is to bring them back into conformity with contemporary practice and propriety.

As Grace (above) puts it, Paul is simply asking women (and men) to show modesty according to the time and place.

With love in Christ.
