You're boyfriend seems like kind of a jerk for you telling you that in the first place. Yet, him telling you the truth is part of the truth. Being a grown up is something that has to happen naturally, you're 17. Now high school, then college, are you planning on living with your parents forever? Don't you want to have a life of your own? Being on your own is scary. There will be times when you wish you could go back, but everyone has to grow up. Do it gracefully and manually so when you have to it's feels forced. You're still a child. Love your youth. Your boyfriend seems like someone who is somewhat serious, and if he is, maybe he needs to find someone who is more his speed, and you need to find someone more your speed. Mature up though, the time is coming. Good luck sweetie!

well..being matured and acting matured aren't always the same thing!who says u have to act your age all the time?I'm 19 and i act like a spoiled kid with my bf most of the times..except for the times when we are having a serious conversation.U haven't provided much information..but think about it..have u irritated him when he was trying to make serious conversations?if yes..then Hun..u need to realize that u shud care about other people's feelings and be a bit more sensitive. But if u act like that when u are havin normal conversations and stuffs..and he's annoyed with u for that..that he just doesn't love u enough u accept u for what u r!i might be wrong..but if he had really loved u..shouldn't he have tried to make u understand this problem instead of threatening to dump u if u dont 'grow up'?.If he doesn't take u for what u r and doesn't value u..maybe u should move on.Follow your heart.Good luck:)

Your 17. You really dont need to grow up. Be responsible in school and get good grades but there are things that can wait untill you are a grown up.

I dont act my age neither. Just tell your boyfriend that if he can't accept you for who you are then he can leave, and find a new bf that loves you. Trust me its always a good thing to be yourself although sometimes we all have to make a change.

If you are afraid to grow up then you will not be able to keep a guy
you need to compromise and grow up if he asks you to and thinks you should. just to save the relationship is worth it.

Oh well, be what you want, do what you want--your only 17.
Gee let me guess though you have to accept his faults or short-commings as "that's just Me". He needs to grow up--he should be thankful that your not too serious.
