Break his freewill. Love him but discipline him. Get him into church. Lead him to Christ.

What age is the child? Most children are not real concerned with anything but themselves, they have to be taught, not yelled at or beaten. Reward good behavior at once, tell the child how much you love them and how good you feel when they are co-operative. Look for ways to praise them, if you are loving and have a positive outlook, chances are you will pass it on. So much of the time we are giving our children negative feelings without meaning to.....Good luck

Well I'm stubborn and my mom just yells at me or makes a deal with me when I'm being really stubborn. By the way I'm only 13.

consistency, and a willingness to do what ever it takes. Be stubborn back. By applying good old fashioned spankings every time they directly defy you. Nothing like a rear glowing in the dark to straighten up a unruly child

You just have to continually enforce the way it is.
If the kid doesn't want to put a coat on or a certain coat on, you just say, this is the coat to wear or you will go without.
Then the child can leave the house cold.

It would take too long to explain here, but I suggest you read a book called "Parenting with Love and Logic". It is a great resource. Here are some links to the book and information.

Stop being stubborn yourself. Children mirror their parents. You may also want to have him/her checked for autism.

explain what is wrong with his behavior. time out also works for
some, for some it does not.
