Yes I have

Coming home from work an old van pulled up beside me, the driver was eyeballing me. I was keeping to my self, but making sure that I kept the van in my peripheral vision. After a while the driver started to cut me off deliberately. I just went on my way dodging his moves and kept my cool. My 9mm Browning HP was ready and tucked under my right thigh. It wasn't a car chase yet. I didn't want to get it to that stage. The cellphone wasn't invented yet.

Suddenly two guys appeared in the back seat of the van and they opened the side door while waving a baseball bat and a machete (very big knife) They started throwing beer bottles at the car. Now there was a chase. Where are cops when you need them? hmmm

Finally one of the guys in the back was brandishing what looked like a grenade. What kind? I didn't bother to find out. I didn't even realize it out came the HP on my left hand and I popped 3 rounds into the van and made a quick right turn in next corner.
They didn't follow. my next stop was the police station.

Carrying a concealed weapon takes a lot of responsibility and maturity. Your patience will be tested time and time again.

Pull your weapon out too early, you'll be the aggressor.
Pull it out too late, you might end up in the morgue.

After that incident I stored that HP and got a Colt Officer .45. Had a priest bless it and I pray that I nor my family would be put in any situation having to use a gun.

I will do all that I can to protect my family.

Been carrying legally for 17 years now.

Although Missouri has only had the CCW law for a few years I have carried a sidearm for nearly 21 years. In that time I have displayed the weapon several times to thwart an attack.

Thankfully I have never had to shoot anyone. In most cases the presence of a firearm will diffuse the situation and give you time to run like hell.

In the late 80's I worked at a 7-eleven, a guy came in and stated he had a gun. I said so do I... I showed him mine and he left abruptly. The police picked him up later.

In the early 90's I was cornered in a bathroom by some thugs with knives, I flashed my .25 and ran like hell.

Because of the line of work I'm in there have been many times when I have had to enter a vacant building or an abandoned house. I usually do so with a firearm drawn. I have found crack-heads hiding in closets and in basements. You never know what your getting into, better tried by twelve than carried by six.

Today I carry either a .45 or a .357 & my belt buckle is a .22 NAA Mini revolver just for backup.

The world is a dangerous place.

Nope but i own a couple rifles the one i use for home defense is my 7.62x39 Yugo under-fold AK. Its small the stock folds under so i can maneuver around corners of the house and not give my self away, only draw back is the caliber is big and could go through a couple walls, but whatever, i dont have kids or a wife and my neighbors are far enough not to worry about. Oh yeah Jewels, Guns are the best self defense hands down. I dont think a five foot 100lb woman could hip toss a 6foot 200lb man. Give her a gun and she could drop him in two seconds.

Yes, several times, with a S&W M-29 .44 Magnum, and, more recently, with a H-K USP .45ACP.
I guess, even tho I'm 6'3" & weigh over 300 lbs., because I'm disabled with a BK amputation and other injuries, there's still some brain-dead animals out there who think I may be a push-over who won't, or can't fight back. In every case, even though in two instances the low-lifes were armed with "Saturday Night Specials" themselves, they ALL turned and ran like rabbits when confronted with the big, black hole in the business end of MY 'artillery'!

yes. once i worked afternoon shift . when i got home [trailer park] id just shut the door when someone knocked . wasnt thinking i opened the door and this man said he was selling bibles[1:30 in the morning] i told him i wasnt interested when i started to close the door he stuck his foot in it and started trying to open it. back then i didnt have any kids and i kept a 44 mag on the shelf beside the door. when i stuck that thing in his nose and pulled back that hammer he must of seen a ghost behind me because he about passed out got all weakkneed, fell down and crawled off the porch cryin like a baby.
well i called the police they happened to catch them. there was 3 of them and no bibles. thank the Lord i didnt have to pull that trigger.....hope i never do...

I once answered the door at 3am (when I lived alone in an efficiency apartment) with a used LASD Smith and Wesson model 15. No one was there when I opened the door.

Yes,I have and it still sticks in my memory as if it was moments ago.For whatever unprovoked reason,he draw a large,"Rambo" style knife and was moving toward me.I drew a pistol and advised him against moving closer. He started talking about how there was no need for that and when I told him in a more forceful voice to move back away from me,he thought better of his situation.Would I have fired?I'm thankful he realized his mistake before we both found out.Carrying a concealed weapon brings with it a responsibilty to use good judgement in situations like those.I could just as easily have fired without giving warning and both our lives would be different today.

i shot an elk and had to pack it out in quarters. my 3rd trip back a young boar grizzly had found it and charged me. i had to shoot it at about 10 feet with my 300 weatherby. it took almost an hour to stop shaking and get on with things. i got the elk out and called the conservation officer, explained what happened and we both went back in the next day to retrieve the bear. i have had close calls before but that was the only time i had to shoot to protect myself.

I almost had to fend of a buck one time. I was between him and the feeder and he wanted the feeder. He even scraped his foot like a bull ready to charge. I walked on to my blind and parted ways without incident. I saw him again later from my blind. He was just a young buck, but nice symmetrical 8-point antlers.

Yes and shot the attacker. It was a pit bull, the owner called the cops on me and when they got there I told them what happened and they said cool you did what I would have done and left no report.
