Well, yes... it is tar. Where do you think cigarette companies and the road construction workers get all that tar? Well, not from oil, that's for sure. They get it from toast. IT IS VERY ADVISABLE TO BRUSH AWAY ANY BLACK STUFF AND SELL IT TO A ROAD CONSTRUCTION COMPANY. You can get a very handsome price, and not let that tar go to waste!

It's carbon. The sugars in the bread have burnt up, leaving a bitter layer of carbon.

I think its called : youtoastedittoolong. Its not tar. It is thurning the bread to carbon.
