Pros:
Lots of history, culture, art, activities, shopping, restaurants, night life. Clean suburbs. Nice and big venues for music, sports, exhibits, etc. Some good public schools - but do your research - there are some very poorly run schools, so investigate. Lots of great people from all over the place to meet and get to know. Big city living, with down-home southern hospitality, plus, in just an hour, you can take a pretty drive to and through some of the Blue Ridge Mountains. And close to some great destinations for weekend get-aways: Charlston, SC...Asheville, NC... Savannah, GA (prettiest city in the south) BIG PRO: Lots of job/career opportunities.
Cons: Traffic and sprawl. Don't live in Gwinnet County if you're gonna work in ATL - that commute - Oh, I don't even wanna think about what those folks have to contend with!
I moved to Atlanta last March from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I LOVE Atlanta. There is so much to see and do here, I stay on the go all the time and haven't even scratched the surface!

Con: the bypass around Atlanta can be very dangerous during mid-day rush hour. Pros: at least Atlanta does have a bypass.

Pros: Good shopping, dining & entertainment. Great flight prices.
Cons: Segregation, People not knowing how to drive in traffic and a whole negative vibe around the city.

PROS IS THAT IT HAS ALOT OF DIFFERENT PEOPLE & STORES LOTS OF PLACES TO GO TO. YOU NEVER GET BORED BEING IN THE A. CONS IS THAT THERE IS NO CONS JUST KIDDING THE TRAFFIC CAN GET BAD.

Pros - Affordable housing, clean suburbs
Cons - Too much sprawl, too many new houses that look the same, can sometimes be segratated, humidity.
