I thank God that there are brave men and women willing to risk their lives to serve and protect.
Thicken your skin....Let the hate bounce off.

Yes I do. I am not a criminal & have never been in trouble with the police eccept a few speeding & parking affences. I have been stopped, searched roughly, I had wages taken off me by police pending investigation, when they caught the right guy & convicted him I never had my wages back, I was told to forget about them or my life would be hell. I was stopped late one night for jumping a red traffic light, when I told the officer I hadnt he said so what, if it goes to court who will the judge believe, I had to pay him £10 not to book me. I also worked closely with the police & seen the way they treat people, I realy do think the police cause crim by there there currupt actions. I would never trust a UK policeman & if i was to see one having the crap beat out of I would say he desrved it. I have lived & worked all over the world, the UK is a police state where joe public has no rights yet the real scum do. I moved from the uk & havnt been back for 4 years now. Best thing I ever did

I certainly do not hate policeman and have good cause to be grateful to them when I had problems with anti social neighbours. However, I do think that a lot of the bad publicity that the Police get is justified. It's not the fault of the average copper who seems to have an impossible job, but some of the PC Chief Constables like the Mad Mullah of the Traffic Taleban do invite ridicule. Sir Ian Blair doesn't contribute to the gaiety of nations either. You have too much paper work, too much crime to deal with, little or no support from the courts, and too much PC in the higher echelons. Best of luck!

no, I don't but it's interesting that you get a bad reaction on the streets in your uniform. I don't think that's personal, or even against the police ... it's just that we seem to live in a nanny state these days with a government that taxes us to the limit and ridiculous laws and feeble sentences for crimes. The people behind these are faceless ... you, however, being on the street are the visible and only representative of this. So you probably get a lot of stick that neither you nor the police deserve, but which is just frustration at the state of society nowadays.

i have no problem with the police force in general but as long as they use integrity and not be the irresponsible for causing further aggro, each situation is dealt with what is seen and happening at the time, you are badly let down by the courts and victims are very quick to blame the police, this is sometimes correct as investigation was not done correctly or some other **** up in the system means that the guilty walk.i agree with one police officers view 5 years in nick no time off for good behaviour, commit a 2 ND time put down like a dog society does not need you.

No, I really sympathise with you. - most of you do a very good job. There you are trying to protect us from rapists, murderers, petty criminals etc, you spend all your time getting a conviction and guess what, the courts don't bother handing out sensible sentances - you must think what is the point at times. We need to start sentancing like the USA, where life means life i.e. no chance EVER to get out for murder etc. For those outside of the UK, a rapist will get a couple of years, a murder about 10-15. However, the best way to kill someone over here is by car - get in your car, after about 10 pints of beer, drive like crazy through the streets - mow some people down, kill them - your crime, driving with undue care and attention - hey presto, not a prisonable offence!!!!!!!!

I respect police officers and the Law. I've never had an issue with them but then I've never broken a Law (no matter how small)
I think people who hate the police generally just hate to be held responable for their own actions. Plus if you are up to something you won't want somebody who can punish you hanging around... say your mum or the police!!

I seriously doubt if any ordinary law abiding people 'hate' you. However thanks to increasing political interference over the last twenty years in general people don't have the same respect for the police they once had. The actions of Sir Ian Blair the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police and various Chief Constables have not helped much either. Someone should have told them,"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than open your mouth and prove it".

No, I do not hate you.
I have great respect for Police Officers nowadays.
A policeman takes his life in his hands every time he steps outside in his uniform. Criminals these days are more likely to be carrying weapons & are not afraid to use them.
You are a very brave man who deserves to be praised not despised but I'm afraid that is just human nature.

NO!! My grandfather was a police chief. The only officers I don't like (you should never hate anyone) are the ones that are "crooked". They should be kicked to the curb etc. In general I don't think most cops are bad. They just have to uphold the laws and rules and when someone breaks them the cop gets the raw end of the deal.
