I need to use DVDs to backup my music and picture folders. For my music, I need 4 DVDs. If I got the +RW kind, could I reuse them every 3 months when I do another backup?

I'd get the DVD+RW. They can be re-used around 1,000 times according to the link below. That would save a lot of money.

You should get RW's. R stands for writable, RW stands for Rewritables. You can only put something on an R once. You can change what's on a RW as many times as you like.

if you only saving a data file not an audio you can use rw.
mp3 consider as data file but when burn for playing in cd player its now audio file. and you can use it again and again just not to have scratch so you can burn again
