For meatballs and pasta, I would always go with tomato sauce - even a simple marinara. I like to cook the meatballs (after browning) in the sauce to enhance the flavor of both.

My family calls this recipe "Dirty spaghetti." We LOVE it!!
2 lbs gr. chuck
1 med. onion, chopped
seasoned salt, garlic powder and black pepper to taste
(I use a lot of pepper, we like it to have some zip!)
5-10 3/4 oz cans mushroom gravy (Or Campbells golden mushroom soup)
1 lb spaghetti noodles, cooked and drained
3-4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
sliced black olives, about 3/4 cup
Brown the meat and onions and drain grease. Season the meat generously while it cooks.
Add to the browned meat the cans of gravy or soup and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Spray a 9x13 inch baking pan with pam and spoon 1 cup or so of the meat mixture into the bottom. Layer 1/2 the cooked spaghetti in the pan and top with 1/2 the meat mixture. (As you would for lasagna.) Top with 1/2 the cheese and sprinkle withe seasoned salt.
Repeat with remaining ingredients and top with black olives.
Bake at 350 for about an hour or until bubbly and the cheese begins to brown a little.
Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Enjoy!
You will LOVE this casserole!

You could try an Alfredo sauce. Its is a white sauce made with cream and Parmesan cheese. Make it or buy it. If you buy it, it is in the same place as the red sauces.

if by "pasta sauce" you mean Alfredo, then i don't know. because my family used both the tomato and Alfredo depending on which one we feel like having on the days we have pasta.
you could also put olive oil and garlic and basil on too, that's really good.

You could use a cheesy sauce (think parmesan or romano cheeses) or even a pesto (bright green basil)
I like spaghetti with butter and garlic.

Maybe try using a garlic and oil sauce. It's simple but flavorful.
