Peter and the Apostles were told to go outpreach, teach, and baptize. Yet there are a number of Denominational church members that think they do not have to be baptized to be a member of the Lord's Church. I hope that you are not one of those...

To become a real Christian, we are told that we must HEAR the WORD in John 6:45, Jesus said, “It is written in the prophets, And they shall all be taught by God. Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.” We are also told so in Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. We are told the we must BELIEVE in Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. We are also told so in Mark 16:16, Jesus said “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” and in John 5:24 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. We are told that we must REPENT (or turn from sin) in Luke 13:3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Also in Acts 17:30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent. We are told to CONFESS CHRIST in Romans 10:9-10 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. We are also told in 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. We are to be BAPTIZED according to Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” and Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. We are to CONTINUE to be FAITHFUL UNTIL DEATH according to Revelation 2:10c Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. We also know that Paul wrote in Romans 14:12 each of us shall give account of himself to God. It is important that we not ignore what is written, change what is written, or add to what is written in the New Testament which is our Christian Guide. Have a great week.

I think actually the NT Church started when Jesus "breathed on His Disciples, St. John's Gospel, Chapter 20:

John 20:21 - before He grants them the authority to forgive sins, Jesus says to the apostles, "as the Father sent me, so I send you." As Christ was sent by the Father to forgive sins, so Christ sends the apostles and their successors forgive sins.

John 20:22 - the Lord "breathes" on the apostles, and then gives them the power to forgive and retain sins. The only other moment in Scripture where God breathes on man is in Gen. 2:7, when the Lord "breathes" divine life into man. When this happens, a significant transformation takes place.

John 20:23 - Jesus says, "If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven. If you retain the sins of any, they are retained." In order for the apostles to exercise this gift of forgiving sins, the penitents must orally confess their sins to them because the apostles are not mind readers. The text makes this very clear.

Why only christians go to heaven Biblical Christianity teaches that no one is good enough to merit heaven. To be judged on the basis of our deeds would be the worst possible thing that could happen to us, for none of us measures up to God's moral law (perfection). The philosopher Immanuel Kant rightly said that it would take infinite time for man to bring his will into perfect alignment with God's moral standard—and, then, even if somehow he did, he would still remain culpable for the infinite residue of sin he had committed all along the way. You saying, "no one can be perfect" is my very point. Therefore, we desperately need a Savior, someone who will rescue us from the moral predicament in which we find ourselves. Jesus is God's provision for our sin. He was called the Lamb of God, not because he was meek and mild, but because he offered his life to God as a sacrificial offering on our behalf. He died in our place, bearing the penalty for our wrong-doing and evil, thereby satisfying the demands of God's moral law and freeing up God's forgiveness toward us. Now what happens to you if you reject God's grace, available? You fall back on His absolute justice, whose standard is total perfection. Do you really think you measure up? When you say, "I really can't see how God would punish me, if I lead a good, honest, a compassionate life," the problem is with that "if." Wake up! How much compassion did you feel when you last got pissed off at someone, or how forgiving were YOU. Either Jesus pays ur debt of sin or u do, no other way is available

I think that Jesus teachings are the key to understanding the kingdom. This is the "Christ" or the message that Jesus conveys to Peter. Will I then look to the 'Subjects' of the kingdom of heaven?

The NT Church started when The HOLY SPIRIT was given in Acts 2!

That was the promise of John 7:38-39 as Jesus Said!

Peter and the 10 other Deciples PREACHED THE GOSPLE OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD, and in the Response of FAITH, ALL THOSE THAT BELIEVED, recieved the Holy Spirit!

(Romans 8:8-to-11) So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

(Rom 8:9) But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

(Rom 8:10) And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

(Rom 8:11) But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Thanks, RR

Jesus gave Peter the keys to the Church on earth, which leads to the Church in heaven. The Church began at Pentecost, and Peter or Petra, the rock, was the first Pope (or Father) of the Church. Jesus instituted the priesthood on the night of the Last Supper.

From the Book of St. Matthew:
16:18. And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
16:19. And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven.

St. Thomas Aquinas said:
definition of the key gives the genus, viz. "power," the subject of the power, viz. the "ecclesiastical judge," and the act, viz. "of excluding or admitting," corresponding to the two acts of a material key which are to open and shut; the object of which act is referred to in the words "from the kingdom," and the mode, in the words, "worthy" and "unworthy," because account is taken of the worthiness or unworthiness of those on whom the act is exercised.
[...]
And because the character of the priestly order is nothing else than the power of exercising that act to which the priestly order is chiefly ordained (if we maintain that it is the same as a spiritual power), therefore the character, the power of consecrating, and the power of the keys are one and the same essentially, but differ logically.

From the Book of St. John:
20:20. And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad, when they saw the Lord.

20:21. He said therefore to them again: Peace be to you. As the Father hath sent me, I also send you.

20:22. When he had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: Receive ye the Holy Ghost.

20:23. Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them: and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained.

Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ, King of endless glory.

UPON THIS ROCK

1Pet.1:15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner
of conversation; 16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
1Pet.1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible,
by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

1Pet.2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy
priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a
chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be
confounded. 7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them
which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made
he head of the corner,
8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble
at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation,
a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath
called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;
10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God:
which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

Is it the same at Rom.9:31-33; 11:25,26;

Rom.9:31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not
attained to the law of righteousness. 32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not
by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that
stumblingstone; 33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and
rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Rom.11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery,
lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened
to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. 26 And so all Israel
shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer,
and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: 27 For this is my covenant unto them,
when I shall take away their sins.
