I have an LG 42" plasma tv with the screen smashed ( tv still works fine ) if i get another set the same model number with a good screen can i transfer it to mine ?

When i say the tv still works what i mean is the sound can still be heard and the set powers up ok but no picture- can this be replace with a working screen from an identicle set ?

yes it can be done, it will not be easy. each plasma screen has certain voltage settings that differ from screen to screen even if it is the exact same model number made at the same time. these are usaully listed on the back of the plasma display panel on a sticker. this voltages will usaully be Vs, Ve, Vset, Vp and a few others. they will give you the voltages values below them. once you have swapped panels you need to set these voltages on the power supply for the panel to work correctly. On the power supply board you will find some potentiometers labeled with the voltage they adjust such as the Vs or Ve. you need a multimeter and go to the connectors on the power supply board, the connectors will have the indication of the supply they carry next to them on the board. Measure the voltage from there and adjust to the value you find on the sticker in back on the plasma display panel. remember you need to make these adjustments while the set if operating. Once you have set al the voltages button the set up and enjoy.

it is working because it is a
layered screen not one as a
normal tube sreen i should
think you can replase it but
whith professinol help
