That is what you're supposed to be doing .. spending time with them . For me, i chose to stay at home and raise my kids yes many days I felt the same way, however i realized that my children would but so young for such a short time. a blink of an eye and they're grown. All that you have waiting for you to do can wait. Heck no one else is racing to do it and if its not an emergency that you get it done well don't worry it will still be there when you get back . Take all the time you can in spending time with them and by the way you can teach the kids to help you. In my home we made a game out of cleaning. It didn't matter that every speck of dust was up or not we shared that time in joyful communication. As for taking them on errands with me; well make sure you are setting up blocks of time in between their naps and meal hours so the trip can be pleasant for all of you . It's a refreshing thing to hear you're staying home to raise them like I did my own . Sure money was tight then too with one income and yet those children had a mother who was there for them. I was blessed to have been able to do that.. it was a precious gift to us from my God.

I have 5 kids ages 9,8,7,3 and 2. We have a routine during the weekdays up at 7:30 and we load up to take the 3 big girls to school by 8:40 and I am back home by 9:15 unless the 2 little ones and I go the park or shopping. Then my little ones and I load up at 2:40 to go pick up the big ones at school and done by 4:50. The weekends we do whatever is fun. They all have to help around the house and then just whatever. I am going to work part time nights starting February.

Getting chores done is a challenge when you have children and toddlers to consider.
One strategy might be to involve the 5 year old in the daily chores. Kids this age love to imitate so let him/her 'help' with vacuuming, dusting, loading dishwasher, folding laundry, etc. Of course, things might not get done as perfectly as you could do them on your own or as quickly, but what the heck.
As for the 11 month old, about all you can do is have the young one in the room with you and the older child, distracted with toys, and talk to the baby about what you and your older child are doing. Keep up a chatter with both children. It 'includes' them in whatever you are doing.
Also, the 5 year old could be a lot of help in watching the younger one (with you ALWAYS close by of course), and even teaching little bro/sis to walk, talk, play finger games, etc. Express to your 5 year old how wonderful it is to have him/her being such a big help to you and such a good big bro/sis.

I have a 14 month old:

6 am wake-up
7 am breakfast as a family
8am daddy goes to work
8-9am Sesame Street for munchkin while mommy gets work done...cleaning, ironing, etc.
9-9:30 park time/snack
9:30-10:30 we go for a walk
11-1:30 nap time
1:30pm LUNCH

we spend the afternoon reading, playing, singing, getting dinner ready, etc.
The morning is much more structured than the afternoon. Hope this helps
