Any P2P filesharing, including limewire and bearshare, where you download copyrighted material without paying for it is illegal.

The only legal ways of getting music are by paying for it through Napster, itunes, and places like that, or websites devoted to independent music that allow you to download some of them for no cost.

Any other way is going to be illegal.
