Well you wouldn't get to have the thrill of sparking up your first convo (assuming you haven't spent a grip of time with him yet) and making a real, intimate and truely person connection.
I think you should ask him what he thinks about technology and the like maybe you'll engage in a really great conversation about our environment and what not.
If u like him, be sure to chat it up with him! Guys needs a lot of attention and ego boosts.

There is that slight chance of rejection but sometimes he is just looking for that bold approach to see that you're real. Maybe try leaving your cell number if you have one. Email has a less chance of recieval

It sounds like you are a little shy... maybe he is also. I think the direct approach is better. There are other ways to start a conversation. Start by saying "Hi" whenever you see him. And if you’re a little shy to approach him, make yourself available so he can approach you. One way or another, you two need to start taking.
