I use to run track and would run almost everyday and was in great shape weighing abou 115 lbs. I now weigh 137 lbs and though I do not look overweight, I always feel sluggish and to myself feel fat. I want to get back into tiptop shape and I was wanting to try to protein drinks with my diet and exercise. What are some good ones and if you have any other suggestions for burning fat and toning muscles? Thanks

The most versatile protein would be a blended protein which contains both whey and casein. the fast acting whey complements the slow acting casein by providing a longer and more evenly sustained supply of amino acids to the muscles. this helps to improve anabolic activity and fat loss.

I have posted 2 medical studies for you to review so that you can understand some of the science behind the use of protein supplements. it's good to see that you have done your homework regarding increasing your protein intake to help speed up fat loss. a lot of people have no clue regarding the proper use and timing of nutritional supplements like protein powders but they don't know anything about the science behind the sport.

Why bring protein drinks into the mix?? YOu want to ADD more calories?? Drink lots of water, walk, run, or swim an hour every day except 1 then do stretching and upper body toning. Eat fruits & vegetables.

Yoga is an excellent exercise for strengthening, toning, and balance. This will also increase your energy level.

In addition, I would suggest that you eat several smaller meals and healthy snacks throughout the day instead of the traditional 3 meals.

I would stay away from the protein shakes. If you are eating healthy meals you are surely getting enough protein in your diet. If you are looking to replace meals with shakes I would highly discourage that.

Protein shakes aren't helpful, despite what any one says.
Just stick with your diet and exercise adn you'll be good. Drink lots of water for normal hydration, and Sport drinks during your work outs.
anything other than that is actually a risk to your body.
