You parents are worried, but will come around. Your wife, however should support you if this is what you truly feel like you are called to do. I undertand her concerns. But, everyone's answer seems to be listen to her. But, she also needs to listen to you as well. You two should talk long and hard about it. But, if this is truly what you are called to do, in the end she should support this decision.
I would expect you to do the same if she felt she need to serve her country as well.

There are MANY ways to serve your country without joining the military. Be sure you've researched all avenues before making your decision. If you decide the military is what you have to do, your parents and hopefully your wife will support your decision because they love you, probably more than they love themselves.

There are lots of ways to serve your country. Try to find one that doesn't include getting your limbs blown off trying to settle a civil war between two groups that both don't want us in their country.
Your wife and parents love you and want you to stay healthy and alive.
The President's war in Iraq does not serve our country, it just wastes lives and money. It doesn't protect us from people who want to hurt us, it doesn't provide revenge against people who attacked us. It is a good war for companies like Halliburton and Shell Oil - lots of companies are making money from the war.

Your primary concern should be to your wife, since you have taken a pledge to support her. Assuming your an adult, your parents feelings don't matter.
There are many things you can do for the country other than serve, if you don't wish to leave your wife and family. You can raise money and supplies for troops and their families. You can get involved in civic organizations.

you need to decide which you want more.. service to country, or marriage. it's as simple as that. Not everyone is strong enough to be a military spouse. it is a hard life.
Will you resent your spouse and parents if you cave in to their selfishness and don't enlist? What exactly is the issue with your spouse? what is she afraid of? does she have a misguided view of the military? have her speak to your recruiter, perhaps he can answer some of her questions.

your service would be better in a more just situation - dont leave your wife and parents for a war thousands of miles away - think how they would feel. and if u died, how do u think ur family would think about u - he left me, thats how i would feel.
YOU ANSWER THE CALL WHEN YOUR COUNTRY IS INVADED, NOT IN IRAQ!!
