This sucks. I am sorta the same way. I cannot tell you how to stop it because I don't know, but I can tell you about the days that seem a little bit clearer.
Try diving head first into an activity. If you find yourself productive then that's a good day. Put on your make-up and try to accomplish something outside of the house.
My thoughts go in circles from the moment I get up until I try to sleep. They keep me from sleeping too. It's a vicious circle as well because then you have even more thoughts in your head about how you didn't do this and you didn't do that. Sometimes it is a shower that I don't get accomplished. Sometimes it is a phone call. I have to call my grandmother but it didn't get accomplished because I am going in circles with my thoughts.
You may find yourself getting alot done in one day because of that good'ole thing called a deadline. The deadline to pay bills. Or you have to be somewhere at a certain time.
If you find a way to stop the circles let us know!
Until then I am going to try making a schedule for myself. I bought a huge calendar to hang on the wall several months ago but it is still in the plastic cellophane next to my desk.

A change in therapist is in order!
Remember, these people earn their living by making sure you keep coming back. It is not in their best interest for you to progress.
Take an active role in your health care and seek a new therapist.
Or, use what you have learned so far and go it alone for a few months.
Look to your spiritual practice for guidance.
Here is a tool to use when circles invade you thoughts: Simply say out loud - STOP! then count to 10 and find something else to do. The important point is to keep moving forward. Each time you get stuck in a circle, STOP, count to 10 and move forward!
Good luck to you.

Explain to your therapist your frustration, maybe a med change ,join a group for people w/ the same issues .Maybe change therapists too ! You have to be pro-active in your treatment or you could be wasting time.. does he have you keep a journal? do homework? Are you exercizing? ect...Have your therapist make you accountable.

If you are having trouble with thought processes you may want to try hypnotherapy. They will speak to your subconsciece part of your mind and quiet it and help you recover as well as help with depression and your social anxiety. I went to American Hypnosis Clinic and it helped me with my stress, blood pressure and to stop smoking. I also liked that they have a lifetime guarentee and worked with me on payments, tha also have alott of locations so its possable they have one near you. You may want to call them and atleast hear what they have to say... BUT IF YOU ARE ON MEDICATION DO NOT STOP TAKING IT UNTILL YOU ARE TOLD TO DO SO.

You need to move away from the circular thought processes, and that's what your therapist is aiming towards. Talk to him/her. If the wrong approach for you is being used, get it changed.

Try seeing a Psychiatrist so you can try meds.
Go ahead and switch Therapists or try a Psychologist.
Try online sites like My therapy and Psych Central.
Tell your Therapist you are going in circles.
Good luck and God bless! :)
