We are in love, we live together..but kinda broken up..or just given each other a silent treatment..it first started with I don’t want to be the one breaking the silent treatmetn let him do it and he did the same it been 5 weeks..we live together and no words..not even a cough .. So for his birth day I want to give him a gift and say happy birth day

okay he was watching sports and I surprised him with a kiss and than later he comes to the kitchen and kisses me back..but still in silent treatment..I am not a very talkative person but I think he likes that way

Well, anything sweet and simple would be great. Go shopping, you'll notice 'the perfect thing'.
What's more important is the WAY you'll present it.
If you want to just start talking to him again, nothing more... simple, tell him happy birthday, and give him whatever you bought.
If you want to go back to him, and make things all sweet and lovely again... you'll have to plan this.
You can darken the place when he's out, close all the lights, put some candles, perfume everywhere... and a notes all over the house leading him... to wherever you want him to be led :p Some notes should contain something like "still care about me, come to...", "do you miss me? i'm waiting for you.."
You can prepare a nice quiet dinner with candles, and wait... tell he finds the notes and comes...
But if he's not in the mood of all that, he might as well ignore them... hope not!
But really.. you two should decide if you are ex's or not... get yourself out of this 'in the middle' situation..

Doesn't sound like love to me. Break the silent treatment by getting a small cake that says "I'm sorry". Then break up. Nobody who loves you would be able to stand not talking to you for 5 weeks.

give him a card that says happy birthday i love you . and indicated that this not speaking bit is no good . talk some suggest you talk about things that are common like news of TV or the weather or fun things you both did in the past together.
you two built a brick wall . now its time to send some balloons over the wall with little friendly notes to one another.

For his birrthday ask him if he'll have a couple of free hours. If you or he have a vehicle then take him out to eat or to a picnic. Do something where the two of you will be forced to speak.
Tell him everything that's on your mind. The best best birthdya present you could give him is the truth. You say you love him and maybe he needs to be sat down and hear what you feel. Honesty is always they best policy!

what was this about??? have you ever thought of just sitting down and talking.. forget it ,,, life is too short for this kind of thing,,, those are 5 weeks that you will never get back and for what. if you 2 are like this now ,, you had better split and go your own way... because it aint gonna work....

I wouldn't give him anything but a card and maybe a short letter for him to read stating some of your thoughts on the situation. Seems to me like a really boring situation with two adults acting like this.

get a picture you two took at the begining of the relationship and have it blown up put it in a frame and give it to him remind him of how you two once cared and talk about when you first met and fell in love. oh and don't forget the kiss on the cheek
