i have a 10 month old lab puppy, who is very cream nearly white in colour
we all love him dearly but he sheds so much, i have a hoover which gets rid of pet hair and things but as soon as you have hoovered the place is as bad in 2 seconds again
Just wondering if anyone has any tips, i have put throws over the chairs but then they get covered too!
I hav used brushes from the pet shop as well as ordinary clothes brushes.

i have wooden floors which i think helps abit compared to carpets as i found hair just to stay in carpets ,only tips i can give you which helps would be daily brushing for dog this wont get rid of all hairs but will reduce the hair in the house i brush my dogs outside and throw the hair balls from the brush on the lawn the birds love it for nests lol.
leather sittee again easy to hoover and doesnt seem to gather the hair as much as the material does as for clothes im not to fussed on jeans etc getting hair but my suits and work clothes id get a lint remover and try not to stroke dog or brush past him when wearing good to go out clothes .

try keeping the dog of the sittees to help maybe get him a bed to lie in and have it by the sittee so at least he is still near you.

one of my dogs is a labrador he's nearly 6 months ive material sittees getting new ones next month so i am keeping him off the sittee as i dont want the new one wrecked in weeks maybe u could use the throws if you want him on the sittee and take throws off when guests visit see if that helps.
Hairs !! im more worried about him chewing my furniture i watch him like a hawk near my dining room table (new)lol

Brush the dog daily using a shedding blade and a slicker brush.
Most people think a pin brush will collect all that hair but it won't.You might want to invest in an undercoat rake as well.
Masking tape works wonders to collect hair on clothes and furniture so keep a roll handy.

I had just this problem with my old lab they do loose a lot of hair. It took me about ten years to find a really easy way to remove it. Rubber Gloves. Try them it works like magic. I put the gloves on and very slightly dampen them then just run your hand over anything hairy and they roll of.
Also I got a thing called a zoom groom from Pets at Home it didn't cost much but it got loads of hair off her.
So the best way is to groom her/him with the zoom groom outside as often as you like it seems you can never get rid of all the hairs and rubber glove everything.
Good Luck
And I hope you have as many happy years with your puppy as I did with my old girl. She died last year I now have a non shedding pup.

Well, you can do quite a combination of things. The first thing is go out to walmart or somewhere like that so you dont pay a fortune, get a shedding come and so good shampoo, they normally have one for healthy skin and shed control. also, buy brewers yeast tablets, you will find those with the pet supplies. they are inexpensive and will help reduce shedding and keep your dogs skin healthy. and lastly, get a sticky roller for what your vacuum wont pick up. good luck hope this helps

It sounds like you need to treat the dog and not the furntiure. I think there's some stuff you can pick up at PetSmart to help the dog not shed or talk to your vet about it. You can order Dinovite online. I've never used it so I can't tell you anything about it. Vacuum the dog a few times a day. Brush him when you take him outside. Use one of the rollers on the dog instead of the furniture.

I hope your problem heals itself soon.

One of the downsides to having a dog is doghairs everywhere,in the case of a lab you are stuck with the problem.Just make sure you have a good lint brush handy by the door to pick up any stray dog hairs on your clothes before going out.

I used up a whole role of Sellotape in picking my collie's hairs off my nice navy suit. Apart from that, try brushing your dog briskly twice a day in the garden-the birds love the fluffy hairs for their nests.
use attchments for your vacuum cleaner on the upholstery .

I have invested in a tumble drier, the lint tray takes all the hairs, fluff etc.. off your clothes. So at least you are hair free for 10 mins a day??

buy one of those electronic combs they sell them just about everywhere nowadays . I saw one at walgreens last time .They really work just remember to brush your dog really good with them . Cuts down on a tremendous amount of hair being left on your couch and your clothes . good luck and I hope I helped.
