That drives me nuts. It's such poor grammar. The other thing I hate is when people use "you know" as an adjective! If I knew, you wouldn't have to tell me! So, like, um, you know, what-ever!

Well, lets not be to critical now.
I mean is truly no way to start a sentence, I would agree, but... when did the spelling of sentence change to sentance and where is the word STARTA in the dictionary?
If you are going to be critical of others English, spell check yours first.

Not really. Understanding that they are just trying to get you back to the statement verses the subjective interpretation of the statement allows you to better understand what I mean. A problem is when someone knows what you mean and when they say "i mean" you find them introverted. Know what i mean!!!

I had not noticed that. For the most part, I try to ignore such stuff since I can't do anything about it. That is easier than being annoyed all of the time.

I also think its annoying when people start a sentence with:

"like, to be honest with you, listen, you know, all I'm saying is, all I know is,"

and end a sentence with:

"know what I'm saying, know what I mean, if you know what I mean, etc."
