Maybe you are having too much in one go, you must remember the oats and dried fruits will slowly swell in your stomach long enough to keep you going till lunchtime. Only eat in small amounts.

Hi Clara,
It could be the sulphur manufacturers use as a preservative in dried fruits. I am allergic to sulphur and also get very bloated if I eat dried fruit, try washing the dried fruit first. Or perhaps don't add it at all. Things like sultanas, dried apples, apricots and mangoes had a very gassy, bloated reaction with me.
GOOD LUCK

They're almost just as good. Don't add sweeteners. Use low-fat yogurt (regular yogurt is chock-full of sugar). Leave edible skins on (pears, apples, etc.) You won't lose fiber or nutrients if you put the same amount of fruit in that you would eat. (I usually do 1 banana, plus 1 other fruit of my choice.) One downside is that since you're breaking up the fruit, your teeth aren't getting the same amount of exercise. The basic recipe is 2 parts fruit, 1 part yogurt, 1 part ice and a big splash of juice. If you buy frozen fruit, you might not need the ice, but you want the ice because it makes it cold. (My blender's weak, so I have to crush the ice before adding the other ingredients.)

I'll tell you why, you are what is called perimenapausal. This is the time when our bodies are getting ready to go into full menapause. The milk is probably causing the bloating, as I remember getting lactose intorerent at that time, but I can now drink milk without any side effects. Wishing you an easy ride during this time.

Stop eating muesli and just eat oats as porridge made with skimmed milk and with only a small amount of honey as a sweetener. Eat fruit seperately for lunch. Make your portions of food medium to small, do not eat large meals with lots vegs and fatty meat as this will make bloating worse. Avoid silly yogurts they do nothing for bloating and can make it worse if you have an inflammed gut.

Some people are allergic to wheat which causes bloating so maybe its the museli, but I would be more inclined to say its linked with the menstrual problems. See a doctor and find out what's happening with them. You may have endometriosis or fibroids;

Oh Ecky! you grumpy old bugger!
Whilst he may be right about the bloating,------------
The Muesli that you are eating sounds fine, did you make it yourself? it's a good idea to do so, then you can control the ingredients. I add nuts, seeds, raisins and dates also prunes and apricots, all dried, (not all at the same time!) Tastes great and does you good, you don't need a lot, as it fills you up.

The bloated feeling probaly comes from the amount of fruit you are suddenly eating due to chemicals that naturaly occur in fruit.The body will gradually adapt to this and the bloating feeling will wain.There are some types of yogurt on the market that can help relieve the bloated feeling I think Danone is one of them, you could try that.
