there could be a few reasons, a vet could tell you more but this is what it could be , they have glands underneth thier tails cald anal glands when they are pluged they stink because those are scent glands the smell is hard to get rid of , also it could be bacteria in the ears or on the skin , or something called mange or hot spots , sounds like you need a good grommer or a trip to the vet

I agree, take the dog to a vet and get her evaluated. There are several skin conditions among poodles that can cause them to have an odor. One being SA (Subcutaneous Adenitis) that is prevalent in the breed. Does she have any hair loss or scaling of her skin? Also, check her ears thoroughly. If you see black wax or lots of hair, clean them with an ear solution, or make your own (blue lightening works the best for poodles- will post link below). If you take her to the vet and health problems are ruled out your next best bet would be to take her to a professional groomer and have them groom her. It may be that you are not using the right shampoo on her (I use the Griminator by Double K found at Petedge.com), not getting the shampoo thoroughly rinsed out of her coat, and are probably not getting her dry enough afterward. All dogs need to be thoroughly dried after bathing to prevent them from having a "wet dog" odor (I use a professional forced air dryer on my standard poodles and they are dry in 20 minutes or less). Poodles are no exception. You can also get a nice doggie cologne/deodorant from pet catalogs online that will also continue to keep her fresh after she has been properly bathed.

Call your vet. This could indicate a health problem, even a serious one if left untreated.
When you see the vet, also ask if changing her diet or grooming products would help.
I'm not sure how frequently you bathe her, but I've never had a dog in my life that didn't need bathing at least once a week. Some stink is normal - but if she smells even right after the bath, I would say call the vet quickly.
Good luck -

Could be many things..I'm with Gunter..I'd take her to a vet to rule out anything serious. My dog had a bad odor and it turned out to be yeast. Usually forms in the ears, but also gets into their skin. Obnoxious odor. My vet gave me drops for her ears, and told me to use Selsun Blue Medicated shampoo when bathing her. Apparently whatever "medication" is in the shampoo, kills they yeast. Worked for me. I bathed her about every 10 days. And it took about a month to get rid of the yeast. (3-4 baths)
I suggest consulting a vet to determine exactly what is causing the odor.

She either needs the anal glands expressed or could have a skin infection that needs to be treated. Take the dog to the vet for a professional diagnosis

if she stinks after baths,,, she probably has an ear infection that is causing the smell.... why don't you take her to a groomer and/vet for a check up.... make sure you are feeding a high quality food and are bruching her daily
