I have quit smoking & drinking alcohol 2 weeks ago. I used to smoke about 5 per day (for the last 10 yrs) and 2 glasses of wine. I feel so much better already but just wondered how long the 'bad stuff' stays inside for.

Your going to get the alcohol out of your system a long time before all the nicotine, tar, & build up is gone. I have some sites for you that will help on the alcohol detoxing. What to expect and answers. Alcohol is always going to be a struggle if you drank heavy for a period of time. Smokes, never pick up another one. You have mad it through the hardest part of that. Hang in there. Note ****= a good site.

You cant. Our body is absorbing cr@p all the time. Typically it can take 5 years for the tar etc from cigs to leave your lungs but nicotine and alcohol should all be gone by now. Typically you will have carbon monoxide in your system, traces of sulphur, caffeine and other contaminants. This is all normal.
