I use Arm and Hammer cat litter and I dont want to keep using bags over and over to pick it up, so can I just flush it ? Will this clog the toilet ?

Most litters can't be flushed. Never flush clay litters.

One that can is my favorite kind, Feline Pine. It is pellets of compressed sawdust. When it gets wet it goes back to sawdust. It can be flushed no problem (although if you have a low-flow toilet you don't want to do too much at once).

The great thing about Feline Pine is that it has absolutely NO urine smell. It totally neutralizes it. Unfortunately it does nothing for poop smell, but since you can flush it you just scoop the poop out right away, no big deal.

I switched to this on the vet's advice because the clay litter dust was causing my cat problems. I had a few problems switching over, but once I followed the instructions on the bag for mixing the litters at first, the cats accepted it. It's great stuff. Lighter than clay, too, and a million times better for the environment.

I know there are certain litters that are flushable, but I don't know about that one in particular. If you look at the box/bag it should make a refference to weather or not it's flushable.

Either way, if you're thinking it's be a good idea to flush a whole litterbox worth of litter at once, I don't care what litter you're using, think again.

Hi Courtney...clay litters will clog the plumbing as they solidify when they become wet therefore it's best to bag and dispose of this type of litter. Flushable litters are available and safer for toilet plumbing.

NO NO NO! it will clog the sewer lines and form into an almost concrete substance in the lines. It will then require a roto-rooter to clean it out or it could even require replacement of the sewer lines.

I flushed "flushable litter" for years and it eventually ruined the plumbing so I would advise against it. Hope my ex landlord isnt reading this.

I wouldn't flush it...........surely something like that will either clog up the pipes or flat just ruin them. I wouldn't risk the expense.
