I've done Weight Watchers before and I never went to a meeting. And I lost 30 pounds before I gave up after a month of being on a plateau. Now some of my family members (ones who have lost tons of weight and my mom who is now a member and goes to meetings wants me to go with her. I want to and I can afford it, but I hate weighing myself in front of other people. I know I can get over it, I just need the push.

So what should I do?

Meeting help provide support and is most often what keeps people going when they would otherwise give up.
Go and stay for the meetings, they are a social event too and can be a lot of fun;

yes i just started last week thursday will be my 2 nd weigh in i feel sooo much better getting in control of my body , right now they have free sign up fee so all you have to pay for is for the weekly fee its only 10-15 dollars if your under 16 its free , i would suggest you stay for the whole ,meeting it just makes you more motavated and gives you somehting to remember the whole week! and once you come back the next week and see the 5 pounds then the next couple of weeks 5 more you wont be able to quit!

I think you may have answered your own question..."I just need the push." Go for it. The meetings are a great "push" and support. It reinforces what you're trying to accomplish, gives you inspiration to drive on, and a lot of support and ideas on how to do it. Good for you!!!

I think you should not put pressure on yourself! Sounds like you been doing great. If you don't want to share your info, that is up to you. Do what you really feel like, and do it for you!

Keep up the good work girl!! Just came from the gym myself!

It may be quite good to go to meetings, and it may be as good not to, and do it alone.

You might also try not to get shy in front of others.

Remember, they may be fat too, and may hate to be so also.

If your problem was mine I would try to eat less and work more and use more of my intellectual resources.

Ciao!
