You must be kin to MY brothers! LOL Let your stand about 'favors' be known upfront, and that way there shouldn't be any miffed feelings over refusal... the answer would have been a given to begin with. And keep reaching out in other ways to be his sibling. Ask him if he'd like to go to the art museum, or the library with you. Maybe a movie? It really doesn't matter WHAT you do with him as long as you make the effort to be with him when it doesn't involve you doing something FOR him. It may be that you two just don't have a lot in common, and may never spend lots of time together, but it won't be because of YOU and YOUR behavior. And in the end, that's all you can do.

Depending on the favour - i would be nice to him refusing and nice to him accepting.
Saying no seems to rock the boat - saying yes its a smooth sail.
However when you would like a favour doing I would advise you to ask him nicely - if the favour is revoked then I would remind him that how you helped him out.
Brothers - can't live with them, can't live without them.
Best of luck. x

A typical kind of brother. Most brothers are like that. You must not be afraid to say no to him if what he's asking is beyond reason. I'm sure he understands why you can't do it, he just don't want you to know that he understands.

Just say NO when you don 't want to do something for ANY body. They will get over it. He's only acting mad so you feel guilty and do whatever it is he wants you to do. That is an awful thing to put gulit on someone you love just to get your own way, shame on him.

Thats normal with ALL people.
Everytime someone approaches me in the office being nice I just say immediately "What do you want?" They usually see the funny side.
