I would like to make custom drapes for my home, I need help in figuring the measuring and calculating.

These tips might help you,depending on the type of drapes

For lined--When cutting, add 2in. plus 5/8(for seam allowance) to each side of drape and 5 in. plus 5/8 to bottom.
For pinch pleats-- On a large window measure 4in. for each pleat and 6 in. in between.
For gathered rod pocket--Measure window. Add 1/4 (smll. window) to 1/2 (lrg. window) again in fabric.

It depends on what kind your making.
If it's a simple valance measure your window times the measurement by three, for a full valance.
For a less full valance, again times the measurement by two.
For a flat valance just measure the window and add two inches to cover the rod.
