There are about 28 grams to an ounce, and 8 ounces to a cup. 8 x 28= 224/113= 1.9, or very nearly half (113 x 2= 226).
There are grams in a cup, not cups in a gram.

cups is a measure of volume and grams is a measure of mass. you have to know the density to determine grams per cup

it depends on the weight of whatever is in the cup, water don't weigh the same as milk, for ex:
