You want to stay away from the commerical foods, the Holistic foods are way healthier. like Innova, Life's Abundance, Raw Instinct, Eagl Pak etc. The commerical foods like Euknuba, Iams, Science Diet, Pedigree, have too many preservatives and low quality meats.
My Lab gets Royal Canin Labrador Retriever 30 with Raw Instinct and wellness pure chicken wet food, The Royal Canin for Labs is great because it addresses the individual Lab needs.
But whatever you do check the ingredients, No matter what the first ingredient should be a meat and the next 3-4 a protein source. You NEVER want to see any meat by-product or rendered meat. And you also want to stat away from the preservatives BHA, BHT, and especially Ethoxyquin(pesticide and banned from human foods) all 3 are carcinogens.

My dog likes Bakers complete because it has moist chunks but I think at nine months the dog should have puppy or junior food I am pretty sure that bakers do this. I guess you'll just have to try them out ans see what it prefers. Try and choose ones without corn as I know a lot of Labradors are intolerant to it
Good Luck
Incidentally apparently the petsmarts own puppy food is exactly the same composition as science diet. My friend just told me that

Innova is excellent. Stay away from the foods you can buy at department stores they are full of filler/corn.
There are alot of natural foods for dogs Innova is just one of them. Your pet will be healthier, coat will be full and shiny. Your dog will also poop less because their body is absorbing all the healthy food...very little to poop out, not like the other cheaper foods. And yes, they are more expensive. Just do a search and you will find a list .

I have two dogs who i feed pets at homes own brand dry food. (large breed) They both do great on it. Checked the ingredients and this seems as good as higher priced varieties. The more expensive food gave my first dog an upset tummy?? hear it has alot of additives in it?

Here's a site that will show you what good ingredients are, and what to look out for:

I like Innova, Wellness, Evo, Solid Gold, Wysong, Merrick, and California Natural. I used to feed Nutro but I wanted to cut down on the amount of grains I feed my dogs, so not anymore.

Any of the top lines that you would normally buy from a vet or pet shop, eukanuba, iams etc, we live in Portugal and use Nutra Choice which is specially formaulated for sensitive tummies and helps to stop bad breath adn smelly poo!!! We are always asked by people what we feed our dog on as she always looks so healthly and shiny, so it is doing a good job!

He should still be on puppy food until around 15 - 18 months. Try Royal Canin.

Adult and puppy food cost the same. So what would manufacturers have to gain if you bought one rather than the other, other than customer satisfaction?

I like Burns, if you live in the Uk , you can ring them or email them from their web page and they will send you a free sample. My dog has a sensitive tummy and when he was younger apart from prescription food this one was the only one he could tolerate.
