It sounds too gay for me
im joking
Compassion is a sign of empathy, which is a true recognition of equality. And is much closer to the facts of human existence. Mine sounds less 'wussy'
:)

deepest truth is an individual matter. it may not always be something good. people may not want one person's truth to affect others. the quote is not entirely there on compassion. but then again my definition of truth and compassion may both differ from yours.

To have compassion means to feel sympathy and have a deep desire to help others in their hour of need.
We are to weep with those that weep and rejoice with those that rejoice. in other words have compassion an feelings for what another is feeling.

I read that compassion is having a "feeling" for others. I think
compassion is being moved to "do something" for others.

CJunk made me laugh.
I'd like the quote better if it were love, not compassion.

It's too grandiose and stilted for my taste. I like plain talk, not "ponder on my meaning" type statements. Therefore, I believe I'll stick with the condensed version...that is, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
Thank you very much.
